Felicitation programme of Dr. Najma Chowdhury

On January 26, 2017, Central Women's University felicitated Dr. Najma Chowdhury, Professor Emeritus, University of Dhaka, for her outstanding contributions to women's education and women's movement in Bangladesh. Chief guest Professor Dr. A.A.M.S. Arefin Siddique, Honourable Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dhaka, presented the crest and sash (uttorio) to Dr. Najma Chowdhury. After the welcome speech by Mrs. Ferdaus Ali, Registrar, Central Women's University, Professor Dr. Maleka Begum, Chairperson, Department of Sociology read out the note of commendation. Ms Tania Haque, Associate Professor, Department of Women and Gender Studies, University of Dhaka, read the speech written by Dr. Najma Chowdhury on her behalf. In her concluding remarks Dr. Perween Hassan, Vice-Chancellor, Central Women's University, reminisced about her time spent with Dr. Najma Chowdhury.
