Students of Journalism & Media Studies at Central Women’s University participated in an interactive session, “Documenting Life: A Conversation with Elizabeth D. Costa.” The session included a screening of the short documentary “35th July: Bangladesh's Deadly Protest” produced by Al Jazeera, followed by an insightful discussion where Elizabeth D. Costa shared her approach to observational documentary filmmaking and reflected on the ethical responsibilities involved in telling real-life stories. This collaborative initiative between Central Women’s University and Drik Trust was organised by the Department of Journalism and Media Studies, CWU. Saydia Gulrukh (Journalist at New Age and Director of Drik Picture Library) and Samia Rahaman Preema (Researcher at Drik) were also present at the session. The event was coordinated by Kazi Nafia Rahman and facilitated by Asrafun Naher, Lecturers at the Department of Journalism and Media Studies, CWU. An engaging space for learning, critical reflection, and meaningful conversations on documentary practice.
