Innovating Teaching, Inspiring Learning

The Faculty Members of Central Women’s University (CWU) recently participated in a Faculty Development Training on “Innovative Teaching Methods” facilitated by GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) under the Digital Skills to Succeed (DS2S) initiative. The training was held from 26 to 29 October 2025 at Dera Resort, Manikganj. The Faculty Development Program on Innovative Teaching is a carefully designed initiative to enhance the pedagogical skills of university faculty by introducing them to Design Thinking, Gamification, and EduScrum methodologies. The overarching goal of this program is to equip higher education stakeholders with practical tools to foster student-centered and technology-enhanced learning environments. As a prerequisite to the in-person sessions, participants successfully completed a 15-hour online course hosted on GIZ’s Atingi platform, which provided foundational understanding of these innovative methodologies. The sessions were led by Alireza Ansari, Innovation Researcher & Consultant, Leipzig University. Throughout the training, participants engaged in interactive sessions, hands-on group activities, and personalized coaching sessions that allowed them to apply new tools and techniques within their own teaching contexts. The program also incorporated peer feedback and collaborative learning, fostering an enriching environment for professional growth and the exchange of best practices. A total of 29 faculty members from three universities (Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Begum Rokeya University, and Central Women’s University) participated in this training. The nominated faculty members representing Central Women’s University were Mst. Shahnaj Parvin (University Focal, DS2S Project, GIZ), Ms. Asif-Un-Nahar, Mr. Asif Nawaz, Md. Mahbub Iqbal, Ms. Shapla Khatun, Ms. Lubna Zafrin, Mr. Cyril James Baptist, Ms. Adhra Sreoshi Athoi.
