Rokeya Day 2024

In observance of Rokeya Day 2024, the Gender Club of Central Women's University organized a special screening of the acclaimed film *Hidden Figures* on December 4, 2024, at 12:00 PM in Room No. 701. The event aimed to honor the legacy of Rokeya Sakhawat Hossain, a pioneer of women's education and empowerment in Bengal, while also highlighting the contributions of women in science and technology.

The program began with an insightful speech by Registrar Elias Ahmed. The screening drew parallels between the struggles faced by African-American women mathematicians and the challenges women encounter in our society today. The event emphasized the importance of fostering gender equality and breaking barriers in education and professional fields, aligning with Rokeya's vision of empowering women through knowledge and determination.

The program was hosted by Naznin Sultana, Senior Lecturer, SGS. Students, faculty members, and chairpersons from different departments were present to enjoy the movie.
