Celebrating Shakespeare
Central Women’s University Drama Club (CWUDC) celebrated 450 years of the greatest dramatist William Shakespeare’s birth in the university’s auditorium on May 22, 2017 by staging The Merchant of Venice. The play was translated by the veteran translator and Chairperson of the Department of English Language-Literature, CWU, Abdus Selim and directed by Dr. Irein Parveen Lopa. The performance was given a standing ovation by the students, faculty members and the Vice Chancellor Dr. Parween Hasan.
ICT Career Talk
CWU Computer Club and Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) jointly organized an ICT Career Talk at the CWU Auditorium on May 18, 2017. This program was part of the celebration of “International Girls in ICT Day”. Students from various departments of CWU attended the program. Mr. Munir Hassan, General Secretery of BdOSN was the key speaker. At the end of the talk, two guests from Microsoft Bangladesh along with Mr. Munir Hasan conducted a question answer session. The program was rounded off with light refreshments.

The CWU Girls’ MATH OLYMPIAD 2017(CGMO)
The CWU Girls’ MATH OLYMPIAD 2017(CGMO) was held at the Central Women's University on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Perween Hasan inaugurated the event. Dr. M. Kaykobad, Professor, BUET was the chief guest. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized the event for the girls of Colleges from Dhaka South Zone. Students' visit to "The Daily Prothom Alo"
For the requirement of the Sales Management course taught by Senior Lecturer Asif-Un-Nahar, students of the 11th term from the Department of Business Administration (Major in Marketing) visited "The Daily Prothom Alo" office on July 19, 2017 and interviewed Mr. A B M Jabed Sultan, Deputy Manager (Brand Communications) and his team members. The objective of this interview was to find out the responsibilities of the brand and sales manager, and how the marketing department of a newspaper firm focuses on the issues of marketing mix, sales and marketing strategy, branding campaign, CSR activities…
Poetry Reading Session
The CWU Language Club arranged an English Poetry Reading session at the DELL seminar room on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. Seven participants read out poems of their own choice at the programme which was attended by the Vice-Chancellor Dr. Perween Hasan, faculty members and students from different departments. The programme ended with the Vice-Chancellor giving words of encouragement and advice to the students.
