Freshers’ Reception Held for Fall 2019

Central Women's University held a Freshers’ Reception on 21 July 2019 at its auditorium. While welcoming the newly admitted students of different departments, passing graduates were also bid farewell in the same program. Chairpersons and other faculty members along with existing students gave a hearty reception to the new students while they congratulated the graduates giving them crests. Dr. M. Representatives of CWU visited the trial hearing of “Nusrat Jahan Rafi Murder Case”

As representatives of Central Women's University, Dr. Maleka Begum, Professor & Chairperson, Sociology and Gender Studies and Afrin Islam, Senior Lecturer & Chairperson, Department of Law visited the trial hearing of “Nusrat Jahan Rafi Murder Case”. They called a press conference and conducted a meeting with “Feni Bondhushobha” to share their views and opinions regarding the current concern about Sexual Harassment. “Feni Bondhushobha” is an organisation where people come from various age groups, profession, and beliefs to improvise social challenges.

Orientation Program of Spring 2016

The orientation program of Spring 2016 was held at the newly constructed permanent campus of the university at 06 Hatkhola Road on Saturday, 17 January 2016 at 11:00 a.m. The new comers ,with their guardians, who registered in different departments of the university attended the program. The students were informed about the activities of the university to uphold the spirit of power to woman in the context of the country. Drama workshop and performance

On Summer 2015 term, a drama workshop was organized by the Department of English Language-Literature where students from all the departments attended and after the workshop they performed three different skits. A well known actress and director Mrs. Shakila Simki was present there to groom the participants. This workshop provided various important aspects of drama and it was reflected in their performance. Kazi Nazrul Islam's Birthday Celebrated

A cultural program was organized by the students of the department of English Language-Literature to commemorate our National poet's birthday. The day was observed through singing from different genres of his creation, dancing and reciting his poems. The program ended with a 'Vojon' (Hymn) sung by Ruhul Asfia, Senior Lecturer of the department.

Play reading Session

A play reading session was arranged on Fall 2015 by the Department of English Language-Literature. The renowned director and actor Mr. Gazi Rakyaet ornamented the session with his gracious presence. He talked about the idea of play reading and many genres of it. He also discussed the necessity of drama for the students of English. Then he acted a part form the Bengali translated version of Anton Chekhov's Sawn Song. The session was very interesting and enjoyable for the audience. Sociology and Gender club of Sociology Department organized a seminar on Ruquiah Day and Human Rights Day 2015 at the Central Women's University auditorium on 10th December, 2015 . “CWU Business Quiz Competition 2015”

CWU Business Club organized “Business Quiz Competition 2015”from 9-11-2015 to 31-03-2016. Out of thirty participants nine were selected as finalist and the were divided into three teams. The members of the winning team are: Lipi Khatun (ID-2013-1-16-021),Shahnaj Akter (ID-2013-1-16-013) and Masuma Akter (ID-2013-3-16-009). Tabassum Akter (ID-2014-2-16-004) was the winner of the series.
