Beyond the Classroom: A Field Visit to Lalbagh Fort

Students of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies, Central Women’s University, visited the historic Lalbagh Fort as part of their courses Advanced Reporting: Skills and Techniques and Fundamentals of News Reporting.

The visit gave students an opportunity to explore the historical site, observe their surroundings and identify potential stories with a reporter’s eye. Course instructor Kazi Nafia Rahman guided the students throughout the visit and provided necessary instructions on observation, information gathering and identifying potential story angles.

The experience allowed students to take their learning beyond the classroom and gain firsthand experience of the practical aspects of news reporting.
